Snow Day!

On Tuesday, we woke up to find lots of snow on the ground! Now to we North Carolinians, lots is defined as more than a dusting. Anyway, we were reminded of the two times before when we saw "lots" of snow and I vividly remember that it was both on the day that we had Meredith's baby shower and Valentine's Day of last year when we were informed to go to the hospital to be induced to have Meredith. So, snow and Meredith kind of go hand in hand and rightfully so! When I look outside at a new blanket of white, it symbolizes purity, newness, tranquility, and peace. When I look at my daughter, I see some of those things as well, she has brought to our life something that is completely fresh and new, she is as pure as I believe God intended babies to be, and she has brought reason for me to finally create as peaceful and tranquil of a life as possible.

So, thanks to a hand me down snow suit from our nephew IV, we bundled up Meredith and took her outside to experience her first snow day! She reminded us of the younger brother on "A Christmas Story" because she was bundled so much she could barely move...it was a funny sight to see. We sat her down outside in the snow and just as she started to lean in order to attempt to crawl, she landed face first in the snow which apparently was very cold and unpleasant. Once I was able to scoop her up and get over the whole guilt of how did I let that happen, we laughed hysterically. Needless to say, that was the end of playing outside thus we came in to warm up by the fire. I love how she brings such an excitement to the things we normally take for granted!

How cute. This was my kind of snow. Glad that Meredith had a chance to play for awhile.
